Lesson #2 Academic Structure Overview

Last week, we talked about “shift” or “change” in how we study between 026 and 027. In 026, we focused on grammar. Now, we USE the grammar you learned in 026 to DO academic work.

This week, we’ll begin talking about academic work. What kinds of work do you have to be able to do in college? One big thing is how to organize your ideas – in reading, writing, speaking, and listening!

1) Stop and look up the words “structure” and “academic” in Babelfish if you aren’t sure what they mean before you continue.

2) Print out your handouts for the presentation Introduction to Academic Structure Student and fill in the blanks as you listen to the presentation.

3) Listen to the presentation as many times as you need, until you understand. Click on the links below.
